Owensville Sinks Eagles In Overtime

ullivan ended the regular season Tuesday with a 47-43 loss to Owensville in overtime.

The Dutchmen outscored Sullivan 6-2 in the overtime period.

With the loss, Sullivan finished 5-2 in the Four Rivers Conference.

A victory would have secured a share of the championship with Pacific.

Owensville defeated Sullivan for the first time since 2009.

The Eagles looked to bounce back in the first round of the Class 5 District 4 Tournament on Tuesday.

They hoped for better fortune from the floor after shooting under 30% against Owensville.

The shots weren’t falling, especially beyond the arc.

Sullivan finished 4-for-22 on 3-point attempts.

Owen Farrell led the Eagles with 19 points, while JD McReynolds scored 10.

Dillon Farrell had seven and Kyle Lewis finished with five.

Noah Stegeman added two points.

Sullivan trailed 14-12 after one quarter and 26-21 at the half, but they would eventually close the gap and force overtime.

The Dutchmen prevailed by outscoring Sullivan 6-2.

Brendan Decker led Owensville with 13 points. Tyler Heidbrink scored nine.

Bryce Payne added eight and Austin Lowder seven.

Both Landon Valley and Zaid Epstein finished with five.
