Lady Eagles End Final Week With A Sweep
Sullivan ended the final week of the regular season with a bang.
Registering blowout victories over Dixon and Wright City and claiming a one-goal triumph over De Soto, the Lady Eagles went into districts on a four-game winning streak.
Sullivan beat Dixon 8-0, De Soto 1-0 and Wright City 5-1 on Thursday in the home and regular season finale.
After winning just five games last season, Sullivan (12-10-1) more than doubled that total.
The streak guaranteed the Lady Eagles their third winning season in program history.
Dixon
Behind three goals from Payton Counts, Sullivan gave an 8-0 drubbing to Dixon on Monday.
The Lady Eagles scored five goals in the first half and three in the second.
Counts added an assist. Sierra Pitman scored twice and assisted on two goals.
Maddy Brauninger, Payton Dudley and Caitlin Pohlman each scored goals.
Raeleigh Miller had two assists. Daisie Duncan, Hannah Wiegers and Kayleigh Willman all notched assists.
De Soto
Sullivan was outshot on goal 8-6 on Tuesday, but Adrian Bell stopped all eight and the Lady Eagles hung on for a 1-0 win.
Pitman had the Lady Eagles’ only goal and it came in the first half.
Wright City
With three goals in the second half, Sullivan rolled over Wright City 5-1 on Thursday.
Miller and Kylee Thomure each had two goals for the Lady Eagles.
Sullivan jumped out to a 2-0 lead behind goals from Thomure, but Wright City cut it in half.
Wiegers made it 3-1 early in the second, then Miller helped make it a rout.
