St. James

The Tigers are coming off an 18-11 record and appearance in the Class 3 quarterfinals. They return senior forward Andrew Branson, who averaged 22 points per game last season. Seniors Austin Ridenhour, Mason Parker and Logan Chick are returning starters. Drew Moritz, Kadin Guese and Dante Pool are varsity returners.

Head coach Ben Smith said the team will return a lot of experience, show quickness and shoot the ball well.

Hermann

Hermann went 22-7 and won the district title last season. They have three returning starters in senior Trent Anderson and juniors Holden Ash and Chase McKague. Anderson averaged 17 points and seven rebounds per game.

Head coach Josh Vinyard said the team will rely on experience and inside scoring.

Pacific

John VanLeer’s Indians have three returning starters in Dylan Myers, Don’TA Harris and Gavin Bukowsky, along with four varsity returners — Jeremiah Murray, Gavin Racer, Carter Myers and Devin Casey.

VanLeer said his team will have depth, be solid on defense and shoot better.

Union

The Wildcats seemed capable of winning a district title last season, but they fizzled out in the district semifinals against Sullivan.

Senior guard Peyton Burke is the only starter remaining for Chris Simmons’ squad.

Simmons said there will be a lot of new faces and the team will be inexperienced.

St. Clair

The Bulldogs have a pair of capable seniors in Calvin Henry and Justin Hoffman, along with returners Johnny Kindel and Nick Dierking.

Head coach Tim Isgriggs said St. Clair will be competitive and grow as they get experience.

New Haven

The Shamrocks return two senior starters in Jay Eichelberger and Luke Gerlemann, along with varsity returners Dominic Lewis and John Ligggett.

Owensville

The Dutchmen have four returning starters in seniors Cason Gray, Trevor Abernathy, Daxton Mehrhoff and Austin Terry. Head coach Todd Rehmert said the Dutchmen will be faster and more athletic this season.
