William Gene "Bill" DeClue
William Gene “Bill” DeClue, 70, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Meramec Nursing Center of Sullivan.
Bill was born in Carmine, IL, on March 17, 1950, to Evan and Maggie (Heads) DeClue. As a young boy, he and his family moved to California, before he returned to Missouri. Known as “Wild Bill”, he lived a colorful life, but had a heart of gold. He found his home with good friends, Jr. Stroup and Carolyn. He had many special experiences with them and made many fond memories with them through the years. Bill especially enjoyed hunting trips to Colorado with Woody and Chris. He was a true Patriot and loved the American flag. Bill loved the Holidays, especially Christmas time. He also enjoyed dancing and listening to the oldies. Bill loved to attend church at both Pea Ridge Holiness Church and Reedville Baptist Church.
Bill is survived by 7 siblings: Clarence DeClue and wife, Sharon, of Bourbon, MO, David DeClue and wife, Ladonna, of Potosi, MO, Debbie Gloriod of Richwoods, MO, Davey Simmons of CA, Kathy DeClue, Beverly Ball of Bourbon, MO, and Timothy Simmons of CA; special cousins & caregivers, Carolyn Stroup of Sullivan, and Chris & Carrie Stroup of Sullivan; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Evan and Maggie DeClue; 6 siblings: Mary Ruth Boyster, Tommy DeClue, James DeClue, Stevie DeClue, Donald DeClue, and Margie DeClue; and special friend, Jr. Stroup.
Funeral Services were 11 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor John Limberopoulos officiating. Burial will follow in Reedville Cemetery.
Visitation was prior to the funeral service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Eaton Funeral Home.
