Ronald D. Luhring, age 48 of Topeka, KS, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his family, after losing his three-year battle with cancer.

Ron was born on May 23, 1971 in Rolla, MO, the son of Delbert Dean and Linda Sue (Hopwood) Luhring. He grew up and attended school in Bourbon, graduating in 1989. Ron worked at Meramec Valley Nursery during his high school years and later went to work at St. Louis Paving, where he remained for 27 years. He had just retired this past July, due to his ill health. Ron loved his work and had many close relationships with his co-workers. Ron met the love of his life, Kim Green, and they shared many years together. Ron was a car lover, he especially loved Firebirds, Trans Am’s and Corvette’s. He and Kim spent a lot of time antiquing and hanging out with friends. Ron will be missed by his family and many friends.

Ron is survived by his fiancé, Kim Green of Topeka, KS; his mother, Linda (Hopwood) Wright and her husband, Frank, of Owensville, MO; Kim’s two grandchildren, Bradly Green and wife, Daniele, of Alma, KS and Ethan Green and wife, India, of Carbondale, KS; Kim’s great-grandchildren: Alaya, Devynn, Trenton, Brandon, Jon and Lily; one brother, John Luhring of Bourbon, MO; four step-brothers:  Eddie Wright and wife, Valerie, of Owensville, MO, Leron Wright and wife, Shannon, of Owensville, MO, Ardel Wright and wife, Melissa, of Owensville, MO, and Cordel Wright and wife, Christadel, of Owensville, MO; one step-sister, Nancy Jones and husband, Jim, of Owensville, MO; nieces & nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert “Dean” Luhring; half-sister, Sally Luhring; one step-brother, Deon Wright; paternal grandparents, John and Clara Luhring; and maternal grandparents, Herbert and Virginia Hopwood.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2019 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO, with Pastor Dennis Spurgeon as the officiant. Interment followed in Delhi Cemetery, Cuba, MO.

Visitation was held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Sullivan.
