Benjamin David Seaton, age 73 of Sullivan, MO passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Benjamin was born on December 13, 1946 to the late, Claude Oreon and Jessie Jewell (Hargis) Seaton in St. Louis, MO.  He attended and graduated from Sullivan High School class of 1964. Ben honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1968. He was a jet mechanic for the F-104.

Ben was employed for 35 plus years by the former Ramsey Corporation, retiring in 2008. He was united in marriage to Penelope Sue Stodghill on August 29, 1998 and she preceded him in death on June 22, 2018.

Ben enjoyed watching sports, especially basketball. He coached grade school baseball when his son, Scott played and even played himself as a boy. Ben also enjoyed reading and writing poetry. He  attended Cave Spring Baptist Church in Sullivan, MO.

Ben is survived by his daughter, Robin Beck of Nixa, MO; three step-sons, Robert Moore, Jr. and wife, Karen, Edward Moore and wife, Stacey and William Moore and wife Cappy; two grandchildren, Lily and Wyatt Seaton; five step-grandchildren, Jennifer Ernst, Michelle Edwards and husband Sam, Casey Moore and wife, Christy, Ziggy Moore and wife, Liz, and Jimmy Moore; 8 step great-grandchildren, Clayton, Austin, Jonathan, Ethan, Izzy, Cooper, Avery and Colton; one sister, Paula Copsey and husband Bruce of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; other relatives and many friends.

Ben was preceded in death by his son, Scott Seaton, his wife, Penelope (Stodghill) Seaton; and his parents, Claude and Jewell (Hargis) Seaton.

Funeral services were conducted 12 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2020 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO with Pastor Brian Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Leslie, MO with full military honors.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., on Friday, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
