Three Months Pass With No Sighting Of Betty Alexander

The search for Betty Alexander, 69, is still alive and well as family members continue to press for more information on her disappearance.

There is no trace of Alexander, who was believed to have disappeared after 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, and the morning of Thursday, April 11.

The family continues to offer a $3,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts, but no one has come forward with the critical information needed to help solve the case.

Sullivan Police, private investigators and Missouri State Highway Patrol Investigative Division have all continued to work on it.

No new information has surfaced.

“We do continue to work on this case, but there has not been any new information gathered at this time,” said Sullivan Police Lt. Patrick Johnson.

Tonya Tolliver, Alexander’s daughter, has continued to work on the efforts to locate her mother by helping to organize many efforts.

Tolliver continues to try and update the public through the Facebook page “Bring Betty Home.”

Tolliver reported that she had stopped by her mother’s apartment on South Center Street on Sunday, April 14 at 4:30 p.m. The door was locked.

Tolliver unlocked it and could not locate Alexander, but did see her Meals on Wheels sitting on the table along with her milk. Her glasses were lying on her recliner while her purse was left inside a closet containing her wallet, medications and state identification.

Tolliver quickly contacted Sullivan Police and within a short time, Sullivan Fire was deployed to help search the area.

Alexander was suffering from the beginning stages of dementia.

From that Sunday on, many different searches were conducted with a number of K-9 units and again no results.

Tolliver is still hoping to see the case of her missing mother come to a happy ending. She asks that anyone with information on Alexander contact the anonymous tip line at 573-860-5637 or Sullivan Police at 573-468-8001.

Alexander is 5’ tall, 145 pounds, dark brown with all-over blonde highlights and blue eyes.
