Sullivan Man Arrested For Leaving Scene Of Accident

A Sullivan man was arrested Saturday after he was allegedly involved in an accident, then led law enforcement on a pursuit.

Aaron Trentmann, 34, faces leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, resisting arrest and other driving offenses.

His bond was set at $50,000.

Deputies found him hiding underneath a bed at a Sullivan residence.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy patrolling the Sullivan area observed Trentmann’s vehicle on the North Service Road, east of Sullivan.

Radio traffic indicated that Trentmann had left the scene of an accident in the area of Highway H and Pilot Grove Road.

The deputy attempted to stop Trentmann, who allegedly failed to yield and fled at a high rate of speed.

Trentmann eluded the deputy, but calls came in that indicated his vehicle was located at Nottingham Circle outside Sullivan.

Authorities found the vehicle at that residence. A female resident told deputies she had no knowledge of an accident and that Trentmann was not there, but damage to his vehicle was consistent with that of the reported crash.

Deputies obtained a search warrant and found Trentmann hiding underneath the bed.
