The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a St. Louis man drowned on Saturday in the Meramec River. Devon Mathews, 37, was swimming and went under the water without resurfacing. Mathews was pronounced dead at 4:33 p.m.  The incident occurred three miles upstream from Garrison’s Canoe Rental. ...
