Presiding Commissioner Says Protests Were 'Peaceful'

Franklin County Presiding Commissioner Tim Brinker said Tuesday’s protest at the historic courthouse in Union was peaceful.

“There was open, candid communication and understanding displayed by all,” Brinker said in his morning press release. “People’s voices were heard and respected.

Brinker added that demonstrators and authorities “were a great example for our county, state and nation.”

“I am grateful for everyone’s cooperative spirit,” he said.
