Man Allegedly Wielding Machete Tased
An unidentified man was tased by Sullivan police on Sunday, May 2 at 7:52 p.m. after he refused to stop walking away from Sullivan Police while carrying a machete.
Police were called to Manion St. at 7:52 p.m. by concerned citizens regarding a man acting suspicious carrying a knife/hatchet or machete.
Officers located the male subject and attempted to stop him to discuss what he was doing when the individual refused and then was tased by an officer.
The individual was transported to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital for a fit for confinement hold when authorities learned he had PCP in his system.
The subject’s name, age, or residency was not released at press time.
