Fire District, Spring Bluff School District Have Contested Races

The Sullivan Fire Protection District and Spring Bluff School District will have contested races Tuesday, June 2, as voters will cast ballots originally scheduled for April 7, 2020 but was moved by the Secretary of State due to COVID-19.

In the Sullivan Fire Protection District incumbent Danny Banning will be challenged by Robert “Bob” Mesger and Jordan Tod.

Voters will elect one to serve a six-year term.

The Spring Bluff School District has five candidates seeking three two-year terms.

The candidates are: Kurtis Reed, Jill Wagner, Bradley Newman, Melissa Herron and David Schatz.

The Strain-Japan School District has only one candidate filed for three positions on the Board of Education. Caren M. Vogt has filed for the board but other seats are expected to possibly by filled in by write-in candidates.

The Village of St. Cloud has two positions open on the board with five candidates filing that include: Sean Flowers, Darrel Bosse, Cliff Thexton, Cheri Thexton and Jordan Thexton.

There were no contested races in the City of Sullivan,  Sullivan School District, Village of Oak Grove, Village of Charmwood, Village of Miramiguoa or Town of West Sullivan.
