Crawford County R-1 School Board Votes To Adopt Four-Day Calendar
The Crawford County R-1 School Board on Tuesday voted to adopt a four-day calendar for the 2021-22 year.
By a 6-1 vote, Bourbon will join more than 100 other Missouri districts that have gone from five days to four.
Students will have most Mondays off.
The decision ends more than a year of debate.
Bourbon considered the four-day calendar the 2020-21 school year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, decided to wait a year.
A public hearing was held prior to the meeting.
Five people spoke in favor of the four-day calendar.
Nobody publicly opposed it.
Surveys conducted by the district showed that more than 70% of patrons and staff approved of a four-day calendar.
