STIP Projects Ahead For Crawford County In 2021-22

Crawford County has several projects slated to begin over the next two years as part of the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP).

The STIP is prepared annually and sets the construction projects MoDOT undertakes over a five-year period.

Crawford County has one project scheduled for 2021 and four projects in 2022.

The project scheduled for 2021 involves widening a one-lane Highway C bridge over the Little Bourbeuse River. 

MoDOT estimates the cost at more than $1.1 million.

Projects scheduled for 2022 include pavement improvements from Highway  8 to the end of state maintenance; Highway UU from the South Outer Road to the end of state maintenance; the South Outer Road from Highway ZZ to the Crawford County line and Highway KK in Phelps County to Highway 8 in Crawford County.

Nearly 18 miles of road will be improved.

It comes at an estimated cost of around $2 million.

MoDOT also plans on pavement improvements from Highway 19 to Interstate 44 and adding rumble strips from Highway P all the way to the interstate.

It will cost around $2 million and involve more than 12 miles of road.

Nearly 30 miles of pavement improvements are scheduled from Interstate 44 to Highway 19 and Highway CC to Highway 19.

The estimated cost is $806,000.

The other project involves eight miles of pavement improvement on Highway FF from Interstate 44 to the end of state maintenance.

It will cost around $769,000.
