Clerk Not Anticipating Budget Issues
As the Crawford County heads into 2021, Clerk John Martin is not anticipating any issues — not even as the entire world reels from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The clerk, who said Tuesday that he’ll begin working on the budget this week and “won’t come up for air again until January" described the county as completely solvent.
“It’s been a long time since we could say that.”
The county has collected more than $2.4 million in general revenue sales tax in 2020 and will produce a balanced budget for the third straight year.
