Willman Wins Gold At Home

Emily Willman won the 5k girls championship on Tuesday. Aidan Kirk took an amazing third place. Abram Denney claimed a fifth place finish.

Sullivan hosted four other teams at Campbell-Chapman Sports Complex.

Willman finished first with a time of 20:15.82. Breanna Mayberry took 15th with a time of 25:00.43. Melody Brauninger claimed 29th with a time of 27:57.25. Maria Schatzl finished 33rd with a time of 32:16.39. Jade Studdard (32:41.10), Isabel Peterson (34:08.42), and Kennedy Medling (34:09.48) each crossed the line in the next three positions. Olivia Huitt rounded out the Lady Eagles in 39th with a time of 36:53.24.

Lutheran South won the event with 29 points. Washington followed with 45 points. Blair Oaks got third with 65 points. Sullivan finished in fourth with 941 points.

Boys

Sullivan finished in third place with 61 points and their best finisher was Kirk with a time of 17:58.01. Denney claimed fifth place with a time of 18:26. Ian Studdard finished 16th with a time of 21:12.84. He was followed by Aidan Lawrence in 16th with a time of 21:27.16. Nolan Studdard got 22nd with a time of 22:19.17. Elijah Pritchett had a time of 22:35.08 and followed in 23rd. Parker Whaley landed in 35th with a time of 25:36.57. Javier Contreras finished with a time of 28:04.87.

Lutheran South won the event with 38 points and was followed by Blair Oaks with 60. Sullivan got third and Washington followed with 82 points. Bourbon finished in fifth with 116 points.

Sullivan’s cross country will continue their season on September 17 at Hazelwood Central at Sioux Passage Park.
