Willman, Denney, Kirk Finish Their Seasons

Emily Willman and Aiden Kirk finished their spectacular high school cross country careers. Willman finished her stellar career with a 33rd place time at State. The meet was hosted in Columbia at Gans Creek.

“An outstanding career for an outstanding young lady,” Head Coach Terry Wood said about the graduating senior.

Kirk ended his high school career with a 118th finish.

“While not his best race to close on, his leadership and guidance this year will mean leaps and bounds for those who follow,” Coach Wood said about Kirk’s career.

Abram Denney will continue his high school career next season after a great year. Denney finished 72nd at State.

“The hills aren't the only things we expect him to climb as we look to see him finish even higher next season,” Coach Wood said about Denney.

Willman’s final time was 20:24.20. Denney’s final time was 17:45.90. Kirk finished with a time of 18:31.50.

Julia Ray of MICDS won the State championship for the girls with a time of 18:14.70. Father Tolton Regional Catholic High School won the team championship with 109 points. Rockwood Summit followed with 111 points. Clayton claimed third with 112. Kearney followed with 124. Rolla rounded out the top five with 191.

The boys championship was won by Josh Allison of Hillsboro with a time of 15:38.90. The boys team championship was won by Hillsboro with 35 points. Festus followed with 78. West Plains took third with 161. Farmington followed with 177. Lutheran (St. Charles) rounded out the top five with 183 points.
