Volleyball Caps Off Year At Sectionals
The Lady Eagles (15-15-1) finished their season at the Class 3 Sectional on Thursday, Oct. 31. Logan-Rogersville (19-5-2) set the tone early with a 25-16 victory in the first set. The Lady Eagles were toe-to-toe with the Tigers in the next two matches but fell short 25-23 and 26-24.
Sullivan routed Owensville in the district semifinal, then upset St. Clair to take the title. After winning their home tournament, the Lady Eagles traveled to Rogersville to face the Wildcats, but not without support. Sullivan’s softball team cheered on their classmates the night before playing in the Class 3 Final Four.
Head coach Sarah Rochleau thanked her team for digging a deep playoff run and making it “a great season!” She exclaimed, “Improving our overall record, improving our conference record, and earning the district champion title were all goals for us this year, and we achieved each of these. I hope this will also motivate our athletes to put in some extra work during the off-season to help push our program to the next level.”
Ava Blankenship led the Lady Eagles with 16 points, 14 kills and two blocks. She also launched 29 attacks.
Karlee Head had a team-high 37 attacks, 16 assists and two aces. The junior also executed six kills and eight scores.
Allie Brune fired 25 attacks, 6 points, five kills and a block.
Ava Todd tore up the court with 14 assists, five attacks and an ace.
Stevi Saling smoked 14 attacks and three kills.
Sydney Montee hammered 18 attacks and a block.
Chloe Carson delivered an ace, an assist and an attack.
Andi Giebler served up an ace and an assist.
Hayden Webb blasted two attacks.
