Volleyball’s Third Set Win Not Enough To Beat Rolla
Lady Eagles volleyball faced Rolla, losing the first two sets 25-17 and 25-19 but winning the third set 25-16 before eventually falling 25-15 in the final match.
Ava Blankenship led with 41 attacks and 14 kills, while Stevi Saling had 31 attacks and 10 kills. Raegan Johnson and Ava Todd each recorded 15 assists and Allie Brune scored 9 points. Emily Clonts delivered 3 aces.
In the first set, Sullivan fell behind 25-17 due to out-of-bound kills and miscommunication, while Rolla excelled in recoveries and returns.
The second set saw a closely matched contest, but Sullivan lost 25-19, with fouls costing them points. But, George made some impressive slow dives and Blankenship executed explosive kills.
Sullivan’s strongest performance came in the third set with a 25-17 win, as they found their groove and gained confidence. Key plays from Blankenship, Todd, Johnson and Saling helped them succeed.
In the final set, Rolla started strong, but Sullivan managed to rally to a 4-4 tie before eventually falling to a 25-15 defeat.
