Sullivan Post 18 Falls To Elsberry Post 226 In Double Header

Game One
Sullivan Post 18 fell to Elsberry Post 226 on Saturday. Post 18 played Post 226 in both games and came up short.
Elsberry Post 226 first scored at the top of the second and continued at their next time at bat. At the top of the sixth, Post 226 added six more runs to their lead. Brennan Bouse singled in the bottom of the third but was stranded on base after three outs.
In the fifth inning was when the rally began for Post 18. After Post 226 scored four more, Post 18 bridged the gap. Dayton Skaggs slammed a home run to center field and put Post 18 on the board. Beau Beckett was walked right after and Dustin Lappe singled right after. Beckett and Lappe kept the momentum going when they both advanced on a wild pitch. Bouse delivered again when he scored Beckett in with a hit single. Anden Carey made an amazing sacrifice ground out to score Lappe. Post 18 didn't score again after the rally. The final score was 14-3.
Bouse went 2-2, while Skaggs went 2-3.
Game Two
Post 18 fell behind early in that game and couldn't recover. The bats came alive early for Post 226 and they were capitalized. Post 226 got their motivation from a double in the first and scored two runs in the first. The second inning was when Post 226 took control of the game. Seven runs crossed the plate. They secured three more runs before the game was stopped in the fifth inning with a final score of 12-0.
Lappe and Nate McReynolds were 1-2 with the only hits for Post 18.
