Sullivan Heartbroken In Hermann

Sullivan’s boys basketball team fell to the Hermann Bearcats on the road Tuesday, 55-50.
It was the second straight game the Eagles came up short away from their home gym and the last game they would get in before a weather delay.
Sullivan's record stood at 5-13.
The Eagles fell short in the first quarter, falling behind 16-11.
Hermann blitzed the Eagles with a 14-3 run in the second quarter and opened up a 30-14 lead at the break.
Head coach Dino McKinney motivated his team in the locker room and the Eagles seemed like a different a team. They outscored the Bearcats 18-13 to begin the second half. Trailing 43-32 going into the final quarter, Sullivan continued to fight back. They outscored the Bearcats again, but the damage from the second quarter was too much to overcome.
Kyle Lewis led the Eagles with 15 points. Logan Watters netted 12 points.
Charlie Lohden added 11.
Luke Todd finished with eight and Blaine Sappington had four.
The top earners for Hermann were Reese Rehmert with 14 and Seth Hackman had 12.
Charlie Lohden led Sullivan with five rebounds. He also had four assists and a steal.
Lewis tallied four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Watters made four rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
Todd had three rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
Gabe Dace added two rebounds.
Gavin Dace recored a rebound. Sappington finished with a rebound and two assists. Sam Summers had one assist.

The Eagles hosted New Haven on Tuesday, their first home game since taking on Cuba on Jan. 13.
Sullivan heads back on the road Wednesday and Friday, facing St. Clair and Pacific, respectively.
They travel to Union next Tuesday, then finish the regular season out with games against Salem, St. James and Owensville.
