Sullivan Exceptional Warrenton Tourney

The Lady Eagles started their regular soccer season at the Warrenton tournament over the weekend. Sullivan played three games over two days. The Lady Eagles fell to a well rounded St. Clair team on Friday, 3-1. Sullivan also fell to the St. Louis Lady Patriots, 3-1. The Lady Eagles rebounded on their last game and shut out Fulton, 7-0.

St. Clair

The Lady Bulldogs took the lead early in the first half with two goals. Sullivan scored their only goal in the second half and St. Clair added another score in the second half. The Lady Eagles fell to St. Clair, 3-1.

Tessa Newman got the only goal for Sullivan and was assisted by Cambria Pohlman. Shelby Giebler, Molly Lohden, and Pohlman each shot the ball once.

Maria Schatzl played all eighty minutes as the goalie. She gave up three goals and saved the ball five times.

St. Louis

St. Louis stormed out the gate with two goals scored in the first half. Sullivan landed their only goal in the second half, but the Lady Patriots tallied another in the second half. Sullivan fell to St. Louis, 3-1 on Saturday.

Emily Willman, Jada Adams and Lohden each shot the ball. Adams scored the only goal and Lohden picked up the assist.

Schatzl played all eighty minutes as the goalkeeper again. She gave up three goals and tallied six saves.

Fulton

The Lady Eagles avenged their losses in their last game. Sullivan took the lead early with two first half goals and secured the win with five second half goals. Sullivan’s defense helped shut out Fulton to secure the win, 7-0.

Willman scored four goals and shot the ball seven times. Emma Brune shot the ball six times and tallied two goals. Adams shot the ball three times and Evvie Blankenship shot the ball twice. Olivia Huitt and Hayli Venable each shot the ball once.

Lohden led in assists with two. Addison Wagner, Willman and Blankenship each got an assist as well.
