Sullivan Battles MICDS/Ste. Genevieve

The boys wrestling team (3-2) crushed MICDS 72-6 and fell to the host, Ste. Genevieve (4-0) 44-21 at a tri-meet on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Camden Henderson, Carter Blankenship, Oliver Borton, Dominic Ransom, Colton Brendel, Kane Strehl, Dayton Skaggs and Malachi Barton all won by forfeit against MICDS. All of Sullivan’s other victories came swiftly in just under a minute: Conner Roach took down Brian Schlafly in 0:18; Adam Peregoy pinned Max Charnond in 0:39; Austin Ray defeated Christopher Kline in 0:09; and Nolan Center took down Daniel Damon in 0:10. MICDS’s only six points came from a Sullivan forfeit.

The Eagles’ round against Ste. Genevieve went much differently and resulted in a 44-21 loss for them. Henderson won an 18-2 technical fall in 4:19 over Ryan Rayoum and Roach won a 14-0 decision over Bryant Schwent. Sullivan’s only other victories came from Ransom, who secured a 7-1 decision over Owen Drury and Brendel, who emerged victorious with a 7-4 decision over Evan Winters. The losses to Ste. Genevieve came from Center, Barton, Skaggs, Strehl, Peregoy, Borton, Blankenship and Dudley.

Girls

The girls wrestling team (1-1) came up short against Ste. Genevieve (3-0) as well in a 33-30 loss.
