Sullivan Baseball Sets The Tone At Jamboree

The Eagles jammed out to the sound of victory on Tuesday, Mar. 18. They clawed out two wins at their home jamboree. Both scrimmages lasted four innings each.

Sullivan started on a high note with a 2-1 victory over Orchard Farm. They beat a team that had previously won two consecutive district titles.

Sullivan capped off their jamboree with a bang. They set the tone for their season with a 13-1 rout over Wright City. The Wildcats held an 8-8 record in 2024.

Sullivan 2, Orchard Farm 1

The Eagles soared past Orchard Farm with four hits, two runs and 2 RBIs.

Mitchell Garner drew first blood, punching it home on Lucas Parsons’ fly ball double.

Landen Doza pushed his team ahead to a 2-0 lead. He first stole second base, then cashed in Brody Gawer’s line-drive RBI.

Sullivan had four pitchers take the mound: Parsons, Kaden Smith, Raiden Redd and Grant Halmick. They each recorded a strikeout and gave up no earned runs.

Sullivan 13, Wright City 1

The Eagles clawed out the Wildcats with 13 runs, 11 hits, 10 RBIs and eight walks. 

Chase Blue topped Sullivan with three runs, three RBIs and three hits.

Nolan Ulrich and Garner each notched two runs, a hit and a walk.

Smith dominated with two runs, an RBI and a hit.

Nate McReynolds racked up 2 RBIs, a hit and a walk.

Mahlon Foster broke away with a run, an RBI and a hit.

Parsons picked up an RBI, a hit and a walk.

Seth Valley tallied a run, a hit and a walk.

Redd recorded a run and a hit.

Drake Gawer grabbed an RBI and a hit.

Doza logged a run and a walk.

B. Gawer drove in a run while Kaedon Woodruff took a walk.

McReynolds was first in Sullivan’s pitching rotation. He pounded two strikeouts, with no Wildcats able to reach first base.

Foster took the mound during the second inning. After Wright City scored, he stopped their rally by striking out two of their batters.

Isaiah ‘Dirty Dan’ Skaggs was first on the hill in the bottom of the third.

Wyatt Henricks came in for relief halfway through the inning. He shut the door on the Wildcats with a strikeout.
