Sullivan Baseball Continues Winning Streak
The Sullivan baseball team has been exceptional so far this season. The boys won all three games this week. They surged past New Haven and Salem on Monday and Tuesday. The Eagles kept up the momentum and collapsed Owensville at home on Thursday, 5-3.
In the second inning, the Eagles scored all five of their runs. Lucas Parsons singled on a line drive to right and Dayton Skaggs did the same thing. The bases were loaded when Seth Valley was struck by a pitch. Nolan Ulrich drove the first run home with a line drive single. Jordan Rice then slammed a fly ball double and brought home two more runs. Alex Toews came in as a runner for Rice. Cambrian Koch hit a ground ball to center to drive home Ulrich and Toews crossed the plate on an error made by center field.
Skaggs was the top Eagle at the plate and went 2-3.
Koch and Gavin Schmidt were the two Sullivan pitchers on the mound who only gave up six hits. They also tallied six strikeouts.
