Softball Competes Hard In Springfield

The Lady Eagles (12-12) faced fierce competition at the Hillcrest Springfield Invitational this past weekend. They won two of their five matches, the same record they had the year before. 

Sullivan opened pool play on Friday, Oct. 4, with a 3-2 loss to Branson. They then rebounded with a nine-run shutout over Seneca.

On Saturday, the Lady Eagles fell 3-2 to Camdenton, crushed Sherwood 5-1 and then lost 4-3 to Cassville.

Dorie Richardson led the Lady Eagles with six runs. She also racked up six hits, 2 RBIs and two walks.

Evvie Blankenship had a team-high seven hits. She also brought in 3 RBIs and a walk.

Carli McCreary drove in a team-best 4 RBIs. She also made 2 hits, two walks and a run.

Molly Lohden logged four runs, three hits, an RBI and a walk.

Ava Declue tallied three runs, three hits and an RBI.

Rae Corwin collected six hits, 3 RBIs, a run and a walk.

McKynlee Peterson pulled off two runs, two hits and an RBI.

Ella Blanton brought in 2 hits, a run and a walk.

Elli Crump grabbed 2 RBIs, a hit and a walk.

Madison Ortner punched it home once. 

Evelynn Harris took a walk.

Declue pitched the most for Sullivan in 11.2 innings. She hurled 14 strikeouts against Branson and Sherwood.

Blankenship was on the mound for nine innings, throwing to Seneca and Cassville. She struck out nine batters.

Pridemore tossed a complete game against Camdenton, pounding four strikeouts.

Lohden delivered one strikeout in an inning against Seneca.
