Schatzl, Bristow Still Alive In District Tournament

The Sullivan Lady Eagles wrestled at Lafayette High School on Saturday in the District 1 tournament.

The tournament continued on Monday.

Sullivan was 18th out of 50 teams.

Some girls ended their season, while Maria Schatzl and Reya Bristow were still alive with a chance for state.

Schatzl received a bye in the first round.

She was pinned by Hannah Eberhardt of DeSoto at 3:19 in the second round.

In consolation, she pinned Sierra Hill of St. Pius X Festus in 24 seconds.

In round three of the consolation, she pinned Jessica Bredenkoetter of McCluer North in 29 seconds.

In consolation round four, she pinned Addisyn Gasaway of Central Park hills at 0:59. She beat Kaitlyn Janson of St. Clair in the fifth round of consolation.

Bristow received a bye for the first two rounds of the championship. She was pinned by Alyssa Washington of Marquette at 3:16 in the quarterfinals.

She received a bye in consolation round four.

In consolation round five, Bristow pinned Aisha Hussein of Rockwood Summit at 1:31.

She pinned Molly Kell of Rolla in consolation semifinals.

Karen Dietzler wrestled in the 110 class. She received a bye in the championship round one.

She was pinned by Cora Skaggs of Eureka in 27 seconds for the championship round two. Dietzler received a bye in the consolation round two.

She pinned Joslyn Rincon of Central Park Hills at 2:36 in the consolation round three. Dietzler fell to 10-8 decision by Lily Pauley of Windsor Imperial in the fourth round of the consolation.

Jade Studdard represented the 125 class. She pinned Grace Raycraft of STEAM Academy in the first round.

She was pinned by Madison Conrad of Seckman in 55 seconds in the second round. Studdard was pinned at 4:39 by Makayla Gordon of Pattonville in consolation round two.

Dorie Richardson wrestled at 135. She received a bye in round one. She pinned Marry Harness of Farmington at 3:13 in the second round of the championship.

Richardson was pinned by Emily Neumann of Eureka at 5:03 in the quarterfinals. She was pinned by Gracie Straatmann of Union at 3:46 in round four of the consolation.

Julianna Graddy performed at 141. She pinned Annsleigh Alexander of Brentwood at 4:47 in championship round one. In championship round two, Graddy won by a 13-4 major decision over Addison Geiler of Ste. Geneive.

She was pinned by Lily Shaffrey of Northwest Cedar Hill at 0:40 in the quarterfinals. Graddy pinned Lana Rodahl of Pacific at 1:59 in the fourth round of the consolation. In consolation round five, Graddy was pinned by Annsleigh Alexander of Brentwood at 2:43.

Ruby Daily wrestled at 159. Daily received a bye in the first round of the championship. In round two of the championship, she was pinned by Sheri Owens of Rockwood Summit at 0:41. In consolation round two, she was pinned by Isabel Oriola of Marquette at 1:51.
