Post 18 Seniors Bogged Down By Schedule Changes

Sullivan’s Post 18 senior legion team can’t seem to get a consistent schedule.

The seniors entered the week with two games scheduled — Tuesday at St. Charles and Sunday against Elsberry.

Both games ended up being canceled.

It was not known at press time if and when the games would be made up.

Sunday’s game against Elsberry was set to be a makeup for the postponed season opener on June 6.

Sullivan still hasn’t gotten a chance to play on their home field at “Sunny” Jim Bottomley Park.

Post 18 was scheduled to host St. Peters Post 313 on Monday, but that game was moved to St. Peters.

The seniors are set to be action again Saturday with a doubleheader against Hannibal and Washington at Washington.

A game against another Hannibal legion team is scheduled for Wednesday, June 30 at Hannibal.

Sullivan is still scheduled to host Hermann on Thursday, July 1.

Post 18 will play at the Elsberry Tournament on July 4.

New Haven

Sullivan lost 9-4 in both games of a doubleheader at New Haven on June 12.

Tyler Hopen started and went two innings, allowing three runs.

Lane Blankenship surrendered seven runs in three innings.

Cambrian Koch had three RBIs.

Kaleb Keen started the second game. He went three innings and gave up three runs.

Trey Behrens allowed five runs.

Gavin Schmidt pitched two innings and allowed one run.

Bryan Payne had two RBIs.
