Post 18 Finishes Season, Elimated By St. Peters

Sullivan’s junior legion came to an end Friday with a 7-2 loss to St. Peters Post 313.

Post 18 was unable to bounce back after a 4-1 loss to Hannibal in the first round on Tuesday.

Sullivan finished the season 9-10.

Lucas Parsons got the start on the mound for Sullivan. He only gave up two runs on four hits while recording five strikeouts.

Isaiah Skaggs came on in relief and was the losing pitcher.

He surrendered five runs and one hit with one strikeout.

Grant Halmick pitched in relief for Skaggs and struck out two.

Sullivan was the first team to jump on the scoreboard.

Seth Valley was the first batter and he popped out. Brennan Bouse was the next batter and he singled on a line drive. Dayton Skaggs was then struck by a pitch.

Bouse scored on a wild pitch when the ball was thrown over the St. Peters catcher, giving Sullivan a 1-0 lead. Post 18 was unable to push across another run after Beau Beckett struck out.

With the game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the third inning, Potts landed on first after a line drive to right and then was scored after Houran hit a ground out.

Post 313 broke the tie in their next at bat.

With two outs, Jezik singled on a ground ball to right. He then advanced to second on a wild pitch and Sanders was walked. Jezik advanced to third on a balk. Bridges was hit by a pitch and Jezik scored on Sullivan’s second balk.

In the top of the fifth, Sullivan tied the game back up. After a strikeout, Bouse singled on a ground ball to right. He then stole second and was scored after Skaggs ground out.

St. Peters unloaded with five runs in the bottom of the fifth, putting Sullivan in a 7-2 hole.

Bouse stood out with exceptional performance on offense. He went 3-4.

Valley was the only other batter who recorded a hit.
