Post 18 Dominates Double Header

Sullivan’s Post 18 juniors swept a doubleheader against Hannibal Post 55 on Saturday, winning 16-0 and 12-2.

Post 18 dominated in the doubleheader, which included 20 hits in the first game.

Game One

Dustin Lappe pitched a shutout during their first game.

He went the distance and gave up five hits.

Lappe struck out seven and didn't walk a batter.

Sullivan scored in the first inning and kept piling on the runs at their every at bat. Cambrian Koch was the first batter to single and Seth Valley reached on an error. Kaden Smith was walked.

Valley scored on a wild pitch. Smith advanced to third on a wild pitch and so did Isiah Skaggs.

Lappe was then walked and Nate McReynolds was hit by the pitch and a run was scored.

Post 18 scored again at their next at bat after Dayton Skaggs singled on a line drive that scored Lucas Parsons and Valley again.

Sullivan opened up against Hannibal and scored seven more runs.

It started with a double by Beau Beckett who then advanced to third on a wild pitch.

Lappe drew another walk and Beckett scored on a wild pitch.

McReynolds was walked afterwards he then scored on a wild pitch after two outs advanced him. Koch was walked and he then was scored from a hard ground ball hit by Valley.

Valley was scored when Skaggs hit a fly ball and reached on an error.

Post 18 made a two-out rally in their next at bat when Parsons was hit by the pitch.

Koch singled on a ground ball that advanced Parsons. Parsons advanced again when Valley singled on a ground ball.

Alex Toews recorded another single that helped Parsons to score. Valley was scored when Dayton Skaggs slapped a pop up.

Valley finished 3-4 and Skaggs was 2-3.

Game Two

Post 18 got things started early in the first three innings.

They tallied the runs while Parsons was a stud on the mound.

He pitched all five innings and only gave up runs at Hannibal's last at bat. Parsons recorded eight strike outs.

The game started when Koch was hit by the pitch. Valley then reached on a dropped third strike and Koch advanced to third.

After an out, Skaggs scored Koch on a hard hit ground ball. Valley scored on a wild pitch and Skaggs scored from a ground ball hit by Lappe.

Later, Anden Carey reached on an error and Parsons followed with a single.

Koch reached on a bunt and scored Carey. Koch and Parsons scored on an error and after an out Dayton Skaggs scored in Valley.

Skaggs was scored when Beckett smoked a double.

Sullivan rounded out the scoring when Valley scored on a wild pitch at the top of the fifth.

Valley went 2-3 on the game.
