Peterson Scores Her 1,500th Career Point

The Lady Eagles played in two away games this week. Sullivan fell in both games, but Abby Peterson was highlighted in the New Haven game on Thursday. She scored her 1,500th career point in the first half of the game. The Lady Eagles fell as a team on Thursday night and on Monday night before their victory at home this week. Sullivan fell to St. James on Monday, 49-27. The Lady Eagles were defeated by New Haven on Thursday, 38-30.

St. James

Sullivan has been in top form all season, but came up short against the Lady Tigers on Monday. The Lady Eagles struggled against the St. James defense and couldn’t break into double digit scoring during each quarter. Sullivan was outscored in every quarter except the last. The Lady Eagles were defeated by St. James, 49-27.

Dakayla McClain and Peterson led the team in points with nine each. Olvia Witt and Delaney George each finished with three. Hayli Venable got two and Molly Lohden had one.

The Lady Eagles forced 28 turnovers on the defense. They recorded eight steals and 31 rebounds. Peterson recorded the most rebounds with nine. Venable and McClain followed with five. Kylee McReynolds had four. Witt landed three and Lohden landed two. Alex Bylo finished with one.

New Haven

The Lady Eagles traveled to New Haven after a home victory over Grandview. Peterson continued her exceptional high school career and scored her 1,500th career point in the first half of the game. Sullivan had the early lead, but the Lady Shamrocks battled back to take the victory. The Lady Eagles fell on Thursday by eight points, 38-30.

Peterson led the team in points with 12 and was followed by Lohden with eight. McClain and Witt each had three. Venable and Delaney George each finished with two.

Sullivan’s defense forced 12 turnovers and stole the ball seven times. The ladies grabbed 23 rebounds. Peterson and McClain led the team with the most rebounds with seven. McReynolds, Witt and Lohden each had three.
