Lady Eagles Wrestling Team Finishes In Fifth At St. Clair Tourney

Sullivan’s girls wrestling team finished their big week at 2023 St. Clair Classic. The ladies showed up great with Reya Bristow winning the championship for her division. Ruby Daily took home a second place medal.

Karen Dietzler represented the 120 class. In round one, she was pinned by Lindsay Rampani of St. Clair at 5:53. Dietzler pinned Muryn Wallace of St. Charles at 1:06 in round two. In round three, Owensville’s Elizabeth Adams pinned Dietzler at 1:32. She received a bye in round four. Dietzler was pinned by Ella Childress of Parkway West in the fifth place match at 3:51.

Jade Studdard finished in fourth for 130. Studdard pinned Stephanie Gonzalez from Fort Zumwalt East in round one at 3:42. In round two, Kirkwood’s Carmen Fort was pinned by Studdard at 5:31. Studdard pinned Aine Callahan of Borgia at 3:00 in round three. In round four, she was pinned by Eddyson Reeves of Herculaneum at 3:09. Studdard was pinned by Eldon’s Anmarie Dillon in the third place match at 1:53.

Sadie Altimus got fifth for 135. In round one, Nekeshia Davis of West Plains pinned Altimus at 1:01. Altimus was pinned by Fatima’s Skyla Schroeder at 2:32 in round two. In round three, she pinned Emily McGlasson at forty-six seconds. Altimus pinned Kara Simpson of Parkway West in round four at 1:23. She got fifth when she pinned Kirkwood’s Emily McGlasson at thirty-five seconds.

Katie Summers represented 145. She pinned Kyra Roberson of West Plains at 1:05 in round one. In round two, Summers was pinned by Eldon’s Olivia Chapman at fifteen seconds. She was pinned by Lauren Ritter at 1:25 in round three. In round four, Summers was pinned by St. Clair’s Hannah Thacker at 1:22 and received a bye in round five.

Hannah Sumner was in the 155 class. She received a bye in round one and was pinned by Owensville’s Josie Gerlemann in round three at 1:26. In the fifth place match, Gerlemann pinned Sumner again at 2:27. Sumner defeated Wright City’s Kailin Hawn in the consolation round one by a 5-2 decision. In the quarterfinals, Sumner was pinned by Madison McQueen from Fort Zumwalt East at 1:54.

Daily took home the second place medal for 170. She pinned St. Clair’s Kaitlynn Van De Wile at 3:25 in round one. In round two, she was pinned by Owensville’s Bailee Dare at 3:45. She pinned Addyson Shepard of Fort Zumwalt East in round three at 1:35.

Bristow was the champion of 235. She received a bye in round one and in round two she pinned St. Clair’s Cheyannah Rincon’campos at 1:09. In round three, Bristow pinned Wright City’s Ella Greenwell Washburn in two minutes. She won the first place match when she pinned Rincon’campos at 1:52.
