Lady Eagles Wrestling Takes Second As Team In DeSoto

Sullivan has been incredibly motivated all season. The Lady Eagles wrestling team finished in second place as a team out of twenty-one at the Third Annual Lady Dragon Wrestling Classic in DeSoto.

Marshfield won the team championship with a score of 152. Sullivan followed with 90. Sikeston took third with 86 and was followed by Central (Park Hills) with 82. Liberty (Wentzville) rounded out the top five with 72.

Karen Dietzler finished in fifth place for 120. In the quarterfinals, she was pinned by Central’s Taylor Sharp in twenty-five seconds. Dietzler received a bye in round one of consolation. In the consolation semifinals, she was pinned by Hillsboro’s Heaven Webb at 1:29. Dietzler pinned Fort Zumwalt East’s Sara Emmendorfer at 2:22 in the fifth place match.

Jade Studdard got a second place medal for 130. In the quarterfinals, she pinned Hillsboro’s Ava Culley at 1:50. Studdard pinned Makayla Murray of Lift for Life at 1:32 in the semifinals. In the first place match, Studdard fell to Herculaneum’s Eddyson Reeves by a 5-0 decision.

Sadie Altimus earned a fourth place medal for 135. In the quarterfinals, Grace Dust of Festus pinned her at 2:21. Altimus received a bye in round one of the consolation. In the consolation semifinals, she defeated Lily Ahlvin of Cape Girardeau. Dust pinned Altimus again in the third place match at 1:50.

Dorie Richardson took second place for 140. She received a bye in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Richardson defeated Union’s Gracie Straatman by a 3-1 decision. She was pinned by Hillsboro’s Katie Hendrix in the first place match at 5:43.

Katie Summers was defeated in both of her matches for 145. She was pinned by Marshfield’s Kylie Green-Beck at 2:41 in the quarterfinals. In round one of the consolation, Summers was pinned by Windsor’s Reese Ronzio at 1:49.

Hannah Sumner represented 155. She pinned Sikeston’s Ryleigh Coburn at 1:54 in round one. In the quarterfinals, Sumner was pinned by Lily Morales of Parkway Central at 6:29. She was pinned in the second round of consolation by Potosi’s McKenley Dicus at 2:59.

Ruby Daily earned a third place medal for 170. She pinned Dexter’s Kennedy McCormick in the quarterfinals at 2:51. In the semifinals, Daily was pinned by Niah Hopkins of Cape Girardeau at 3:10. She pinned Addyson Shepherd of Fort Zumwalt East at 2:21 in the consolation semifinals. Daily claimed third place when she pinned Ally Burrell of Park Hills at 1:52.

Kenzy Mattingly competed for 190 and received a bye in the first round. She was pinned by Emma Steimle of Cape Girardeau at twenty-two seconds in the quarterfinals.

Reya Bristow finished with a second place medal for 235. She pinned Riley Korkamp of Fort Zumwalt East at 1:17 in round one. In round two, she pinned Lift for Life’s Armijah Frazier in an outstanding five seconds. Bristow was pinned by Sikeston’s Alayna Ray at 1:18 in round three.
