Lady Eagles Fly By Osage

Sullivan swung their way to a 16-1 victory over Osage in their final pool game of the Peoples Bank Back To School Classic on Friday.

The Lady Eagles scored 13 runs in the second inning.

Sullivan entered the game having already won their first two games.

Molly Lohden got the start on the mound for the Lady Eagles.

Lohden showed the Lady Eagles were not messing around and Osage went down without scoring at their first at bat.

Sullivan struck first. Kayla Ulrich reached on a double with and Sophia Weirich brought her home.

In the second, Alexis Funkhouser hits a double so high up in the sun an Osage fielder lost the ball, helping her reach the extra base. That's all the push they need as the ladies then come alive.

Dorie Richardson scored Funkhouser, making it 2-0. Molly Lohden tripled in Richardson to give Sullivan a 3-0 lead.

Fans don't worry as Hayli Venable helps Lohden come home and the Eagles score again making the score 4-0.

The Eagles advanced their lead on a double by Weirich. Jaedin Blakenship then came up and hit a rocket into center field. The ball cleared the fence for a home run. Sullivan took a 9-0 lead.

Ten straight batters went to the plate before Sullivan made an out. Lohden and Venable drove in two more runs.

Ulrich had an RBI single and Branson tripled home two more runs for a 14-0 lead. Branson was thrown out trying to score.

Osage tried to fight back. They scored a run to start the third inning. and make the score 14-1.

The Lady Eagles ended the game in the bottom of the third. Funkhouser reached base and scored on an RBI groundout by Hannah Campbell.

Sullivan went up 15-1. Ulrich put the game away when she hit a fly ball that was dropped by the second baseman.
