Lady Eagles Aim To Bounce Back After Borgia Loss
The Lady Eagles (9-7) found themselves on the ropes on Thursday, May 8. They fell 8-1 to St. Francis Borgia (11-11) at home on Senior Night.
Ava Hayes fired in Sullivan’s lone goal against the Lady Knights. She found the back of the net 22 minutes into the second half. The sophomore also led the Lady Eagles with 2 points and two shots.
Jada Adams dished out the assist to Hayes, earning a point.
Andi Giebler also attempted a shot on goal for Sullivan.
Kara Schmidt guarded the net for the Lady Eagles.
Class 2 District 4 Bracket
St. Francis Borgia will host the Class 2 District 4 Tournament.
The Lady Eagles were seeded fourth out of eight teams. They kick off against No. 5 St. Clair on Saturday, May 17, at 4 p.m.
If Sullivan wins, they will play the semifinal the following Wednesday at 5 p.m. The Lady Eagles would face Westminster Christian (1) or Owensville (8).
The district championship will be held on Saturday, May 24, at 12 p.m.
The Ladycats will look to defend their top seed against the No. 8 Dutchgirls on May 17 at 10 a.m.
Clayton (2) and St. James (7) will play at noon in the quarterfinal, then Borgia (3) and Affton (6) will follow at 2 p.m. The winners of these two matches will battle on May 21 at 7 p.m. for a spot in the championship.
