Girls Soccer Takes 3rd At Lutheran St. Charles

The Lady Eagles (3-1-2) competed at the Lutheran St. Charles Tournament from Mar. 18-21. 

University City

The Lady Eagles opened up the tournament with a 7-0 shutout over University City (0-4) on Monday, Mar. 18. Sullivan scored four goals in the first half and three in the second.

Sophomore forward Tessa Newman led her squad with two goals on her only two shots.

Junior midfielder Molly Lohden broke away with a team-high six shots that included a goal.

Freshman midfielder Ava Hayes collected four shots, two assists and a goal.

Junior midfielder Jada Adams racked up three shots, a goal and an assist.

Senior forward Cambria Pohlman drew up four shots, a goal and an assist.

Junior midfielder Addison Wagner managed to pick up a goal on the three shots she made.

Junior midfielder Gabi Camacho grabbed two shots, while sophomore defender/midfielder Kara Schmidt had one.

Sophomore midfielder/defender Avaleigh Parks helped with an assist.

Maria Schatzl secured the net as Sullivan’s goalie against the Lions.

Northwest (Cedar Hill)

The Lady Eagles fell 2-0 to the Northwest Lions (2-0-1) on Tuesday, Mar. 19.

Pohlman delivered a team-high four shots. Adams drew up three shots, while Newman and Schatzl each had one.

Schatzl was Sullivan’s goalie for 75 minutes and surrendered two goals. Karen Dietzler filled in for relief for 5 minutes.

Lutheran St. Charles

The final-round clash between Sullivan and the host Lutheran St. Charles (1-0-2) ended in a 2-2 draw on Thursday, Mar. 21. All goals were scored in the second half.

Pohlman and Hayes were the two Lady Eagle scorers. Pohlman also pulled off two shots and an assist, while Hayes got three shots.

Adams tallied two shots.

Schatzl made five saves in 60 minutes as goalie. Dietzler was the netkeeper for twenty minutes of the match, recording five saves and giving up two goals to the Lions.
