Eagles Keep Swinging In Summer Leagues
After winning a district title, several Sullivan baseball players still craved the game and continued taking the field into the summer.
Drake Gawer spent his offseason with the St. Louis Gamers Blue (17U), who finished 37-16-1. He had eight mound appearances (38.2 innings), executing 40 strikeouts, a 1.086 ERA and a .776 WHIP. Gawer earned a spot on the World Wood Bat Association’s (WWBA) 17U National Championship All-Tournament Team.
Chase Blue wore #22 for the US Nationals Midwest (16U), starting 32 games. He had a team-high 17 RBIs and also balled out with 24 hits, 15 runs, two homers, 18 singles, four doubles and six walks. Blue pitched 14.2 innings and pounded out ten strikeouts. He also played a game for the US Nationals Scout Team (17U), who held a 28-8-1 record.
Landen Doza spent the summer playing with the Gators Baseball Academy Development program. His team finished 15-14-2. Doza led the Gators with 21 hits, 19 runs and 17 singles. He also stacked up 7 RBIs, six walks, two triples and two doubles at the plate. Doza batted a .362 and slugged a .466 while also grabbing 32 putouts in the field.
Raiden Redd took flight with the Blue Angels (15U) after he made his freshman debut for the Eagles. He played in all 43 games and was crucial at the plate. Redd led the Blue Angels with 50 RBIs, six homers, 12 doubles and five triples. He also recorded a .375 batting average and a .760 slugging percentage, with 39 hits, 35 runs, 24 walks and 16 singles. Redd punched out 18 strikeouts during his 16 innings on the mound. The Blue Angels closed their season with a 25-18 record.
Nolan Ulrich traveled with the Inevitable A’s Select (16U), who finished 25-16-1. He had a team-high 28 singles. Ulrich also racked up 32 hits and runs, 24 RBIs, 20 walks and four doubles. He batted a .333 and slugged a .375, while making 47 putouts in the field.
Nate McReynolds was on the St. Louis Naturals (17U) alongside Dustin Lappe of the Bourbon Warhawks. The two were teammates on Sullivan Post 18 in 2023 and helped take the Naturals to a 24-12 record.
Anden Carey played for the Jefferson County Blazers (18U). He earned a spot on the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Association’s (SLABA) All-Star Team. Carey recorded 22 hits, 18 singles, 15 RBIs, nine runs, six walks and four doubles at the plate.
Brothers Dayton and Isaiah Skaggs were a dominant duo for Washington Post 218 AAA 18O this past summer. Their squad went 19-16.
Lucas Parsons wore #1 for Adidas Athletics Gold (17U/18U) and helped take the team to a 25-13 record.
