Eagles Football Grinds Out Awards On The Gridiron

The Eagles soared ahead with awards on the gridiron last fall.

Mark Jennings played lights out, earning third-team all-state, all-district and first-team all-conference honors. Sullivan’s top rusher was named their Most Valuable Player during their end-of-year awards ceremony. The junior led the Eagles with 1512 yards on the ground. He also punched in 14 touchdowns and averaged 10 yards per his 151 carries.

During his senior year, offensive lineman Nolan Center was a beast in the trenches. He finished high school with third-team all-state, all-district and first-team all-conference awards.

Seth Valley was unguardable as an all-district and first-team all-conference wide receiver. The senior topped the Eagles with 369 receiving yards. He racked up 23.1 yards per his 16 catches and took it to the house twice.

Chase Blue put on a rushing clinic with all-district and second-team all-conference honors. The junior made fourteen trips to the end zone. He bolted for 1232 yards, averaging 7.2 per his 171 touches.

Robert York II served as Sullivan’s Swiss Army knife, earning all-district and first-team all-conference spots. The senior was versatile as a utility player, dominating as a defensive back and quarterback.

Ethan Cook was a stonewall-like offensive and defensive lineman. The junior cooked up the gridiron with all-district and second-team all-conference awards.

Junior Ollie Borton was an all-district and second-team all-conference defensive back.

Linebacker Grant Halmick (Sr.) and defensive lineman Cameron York (Jr.) were named to the second team for all-conference.

Linebacker Parker Montee finished his high school career with an all-conference honorable mention. 

Sullivan had eleven academic all-conference awardees: Borton, Braxton Breen, Anden Carey, Center, Benjamin Cornejo, Nathan Garcia, Mitchell Garner, Halmick, Montee, Kaden Smith and Josiah Tanner.
