Sandra Kilian

With heavy hearts we announce the death of Sandra Marie Killian, of Fayette MO, who passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the age of 56.

Sandra Killian, daughter of Margaret Killian and the late Dr. Donald Killian, born with Rett’s Syndrome, Sandy was an inspiration and had an impact on everyone she met.

Sandy loved visiting her family, therapeutic horse backing riding, music, concerts, and her day program. Sandy had an impressive collection of stuffed monkeys. One year, a live monkey actually showed up at one of her birthday parties.

With her big beautiful brown eyes and infectious smile, Sandy brought out the best in people and taught us so much about what is important in life.

You could not be in Sandy’s presence without being touched by her. Sandy lives in each of us in her own special way and will always be our angel.

We are forever grateful for Sandy’s extended family of caregivers and friends. They always treated her with love, kindness, and respect.

Sandy is survived by her mother, Margaret Killian, of Sullivan, MO; sisters and brothers-in-law: Donna and Ruben Carrillo and Gail and Mike Doza; nephews and nieces: Michelle, John and Elizabeth Sappington, Joey, Katrina, Makaylee and Jaiden Doza, Christopher Carrillo, and Sean Barnhill.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Donald Killian; and six aunts: Helen Merkel, Frances Voss, Catherine Schroeder, Rose Bindner, Marie Davis and Pauline Harris.

Graveside funeral services were 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Hill Cemetery in Bourbon, MO.
