Ralph ‘Sammy’ Bass

Ralph “Sammy” E. Bass, age 55, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, May 7, 2021, at his home in Gasconade, Missouri.

Sammy was born October 5, 1965 in Sullivan, Missouri, to the late Warner Ralph and Nancy (Lawrence) Bass. He attended grade school at Spring Bluff, and graduated from Sullivan High School, class of 1984. As a young man, Sammy was employed by Shade Tree, and later, became a Journeyman Lineman. He was employed by Ameren for twenty plus years, but was most recently employed by IBEW Local #2. Sammy loved being outdoors, hanging out at the river and his cabin. He enjoyed fast boats, fishing, and motorcycles. Sammy will be missed by his family and many friends.

Sammy is survived by his son, Adam Bass of Gasconade, MO; his daughter, Samantha Bass of Columbia, MO; three sisters: Chris Wigger and husband, Tom, Patty LaPlant and husband, Darrell, & Shelly Head and husband, Tracy, all of Sullivan, MO; two step-brothers: Matt Wideman and wife, Nancy, of St. Clair, MO, and Clay Wideman of Union, MO; a step-sister, Dede Barton and husband, Levi, of Sullivan, MO; two grandchildren: Dizziey Martinez & Drelyn Beckham; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warner (Sam) Bass and Nancy Lawrence Bass.

Funeral Services were 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor Chester Lahmann officiating.

Visitation was held from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.

Graveside Services were 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the New Masonic Cemetery in Potosi. For anyone planning to attend the graveside service, the family is asking that you please arrive at the cemetery by 9:30 a.m.
