Orea Dean Williams

Orea Dean Williams, known as Dean, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in the comfort of his own home.
In Dean’s 91-year journey of life, he worked at many jobs and places in his career. Some of these included the Sullivan Mines, MSHA special investigator, and Mobil of Bourbon. His most favorite job was the time spent working as a surveyor at Allis Chalmers.
Dean proudly served in the United States Army alongside his twin brother, Dale. Together they served in the Korean War, a war often overlooked and forgotten.
One of Dean’s passions was riding his many motorcycles over the years. He was a member of HOG and the Gold Wings Club. Both his daughter, Rebecca and grandson, Trevor also have this same passion for motorcycles. Dean and Shirley took multiple trips with family and friends. These travels didn’t just include riding a Harley either. Many of his left behind family can share stories of places Uncle Dean and Aunt Shirley took them on.
All of us who were loved, helped by and had the opportunity to vacation with Dean, knew that he would always come through. Thank you Dean for giving and sharing your 91 years with us all. You will be missed, yet never forgotten and we all give you a thumbs up to a wonderful life.
Dean is survived by his devoted daughter, Rebecca Meier and husband Steve; two grandsons: Spencer and Trevor Meier; a great – grandson, Jaxton Meier; his twin brother, Dale (Omer) Williams; his nephews: Roger Williams, Mark Williams, Robbie Wells, David Wells, Joey McSpadden and Bill Grey; nieces, Janet Wells and Jeri Grey; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley (Pennock) Williams; his parents, Alfred and Ada Williams; brothers: Jules Williams and Ross Williams; sisters: Frieda Hayes and Wanda Scaggs; and many other relatives including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
