Larry W. Renick, 64, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in Sullivan, Missouri.

 

Born on May 22, 1959, in Washington, Missouri, to Curtis and Aliese Renick, Larry was a man whose life was characterized by hard work, a love for the outdoors, and a deep devotion to his family.

 

Larry's early education took place at the Holy Martyrs of Japan Catholic School, where he was instilled with values that would guide him throughout his life. He later graduated from Sullivan High School in the class of 1978, a proud moment for him and his family. Larry's work ethic was evident from a young age, and he remained in Sullivan to begin his professional journey with the Ramsey Corporation. His dedication and skill led him through the company's transition to Sealed Power in Manchester, MO, where he contributed significantly for nearly 15 years.

 

Larry's career took a turn when he joined the Missouri Department of Transportation. His exceptional skill was recognized when he won a championship title at a heavy equipment operator contest within MoDOT. Larry's commitment to his work was unwavering, and he served the department for over 20 years.

 

Beyond his professional life, Larry was a man of many interests. He had a talent for tinkering, welding, and could fix anything that came his way; even his nieces and nephews minor boo boos. He cherished the time spent working on the farm alongside his father and eventually took over the farm after his father's passing. Raising cattle and tending to the farmwork were not just tasks for Larry; they were his passion.

 

An avid outdoorsman, Larry loved to hunt, fish, trap, and spend time on the river gigging. He also enjoyed passing time tinkering on and fixing up his ’47 Chevy pick up truck.

 

His love for his nieces and nephews was boundless, and he cherished them as if they were his own children. He especially loved watching his nephew, Clay. Larry found joy in the simple pleasures of life and had a firm belief in the Lord, which he embraced as a young boy.

 

A devoted son, uncle, and brother, Larry was a rock to his family. Always willing to teach, help, guide, care for or to simply listen. He looked forward to and never missed a Sunday dinner, birthday party or family get together. Larry was known for his jokester personality, big sense of humor, and was a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump. Trump 2024! Larry’s legacy is one of love, laughter and strength.

 

Larry is survived by his two siblings, Rocky Renick of Sullivan, Missouri and Terri Coppedge of Sullivan, Missouri; six nieces and nephews: Lauryn Bouckaert and husband Billy, Joshua Coppedge and wife Jenna, Alexandra Renick, Nicole Coppedge - Saulpaugh, Darin Chaney and wife Rachel and Justin Coppedge and wife Brittany; nine great - nieces and nephews: Clay, Caroline, Rogue, Chloe, Hailey, Drake, Caleb, Clara and Oliver; his beloved barncat, Lloyd; other relatives and many friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Aliese.

 

Visitation will be 4 – 7 PM, Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.

 

Funeral Mass will be 10 AM, Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Holy Martyrs of Japan Catholic Church with Father Noah Waldman celebrating. Interment will follow at Lockhart Cemetery in Cuba, MO.
