Karen Wegescheide

Karen M. Wegescheide, 62, of Cuba, Missouri, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at her home.

Karen Marie Wegescheide was born August 1, 1957, in Saint Louis, Missouri, to Donald and Odelia (Hassel) Wegescheide. She grew up and attended school in Saint Louis, later moving to the Sullivan area, where she graduated from Sullivan High School, class of 1976. She lived in various places after graduation, including Jefferson City, Missouri, and the state of California. Karen then returned back to Missouri in 1995 to make it her final home.

Karen attended Cosmetology School and worked as a hair stylist for many years. She purchased her father’s home in Leasburg, where she enjoyed working in the yard, mowing her grass and entertaining her family with barbeques. She loved spending time in the sun, especially while floating on the river.

Karen was known as the “Mother of All” and had a big heart. She was always very selfless and giving. She had such a special love for her nieces and nephews. Karen will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by many.

Karen is survived by her four siblings: Debra Wegescheide-Holterman of Westphalia, MO, Joseph Wegescheide and wife, Lisa, of Leasburg, MO, Cathy Wegescheide-West and husband, William, of Cuba, MO, and Alva Wegescheide-Roberts of Valley Park, MO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Odelia; a sister, Mary; and two brothers-in-law, David Roberts and Roger Holterman.

A Remembrance Memorial Service for Karen was at 7 p.m., Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Visitation was held from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., Friday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.
