Dennis L. Forester, 58, of Sullivan, MO, passed away at his home on Monday, December 6, 2021.

Dennis Lee was born August 4, 1963 in Steelville, MO, to the late Leslie W. and Leona B. (Durbin) Forester. He was united in marriage to Virginia “Boody” Payne Studdard on September 21, 1993. Dennis was employed by Aerofil in Sullivan as a supervisor from 1992 to 2010. He then worked for Empac and Meramec Electrical.

Dennis enjoyed playing and listening to music, and as a young man, he played guitar in a band. Through the years, he collected and owned many guitars. Dennis was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time in nature, mushroom hunting with his Dad, hunting, fishing, camping and canoeing. Later, he took up bowling and golfing, until his health deteriorated. Dennis will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family and friends.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Virginia “Boody” Forester, of Sullivan, MO; five children: Matthew Studdard of Sullivan, MO, Sarah Studdard and husband, Josh Simmons, of Pasadena, MD, Amanda Thacker and husband, Scott, of Sullivan, MO, Laurel Studdard of Sullivan, MO and Jim Studdard and wife, Rachell, of Cape Girardeau, MO; six grandchildren: Connor and Deagan Studdard, Cameron and Caitlyn Thacker and Garrett and Gabriel Studdard; three step–grandchildren: Austin, Sara and Summer Simmons; one sister, Lesa Forester of Sullivan, MO; in-laws, Linda Gatch and husband, Adam, of Salem, OR, Jimmy Payne of Cuba, MO, John Payne and wife, Susan, of Hemet, CA, Sue Lahmann and husband, Dax, of Cuba, MO and Mary Jane Stout and husband, Mike, of Washington, MO; two good friends, Jeremy Romesburg and wife, Kim, and Brian Hughes, all of Cuba, MO; nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Leona; his brother, Rusty Forester; one sister, Kathryn Durbin; and a brother-in-law, Jahn Payne.

Cremation services have taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Sullivan Harney Mansion.
