David Michael Gray, 40, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Mercy Hospital – St. Louis. 

David Michael was born in St. Louis, MO, September 15, 1980, to Catherine Gray and Jimmie Henderson. He grew up in various places in Missouri and Arkansas. David began his working career at an early age. He mostly worked in the carpentry and landscaping industry. Later in life, he did work as a repair/maintenance man for a trailer park. 

David was married to Sarah Tweedy on November 15, 2002, in St. Louis. To their union three children were born: Cheyenne, Dameon and Gwynavier. In 2006, they moved to Sullivan to make their family home. David was also a father to his son, Edward, from a previous relationship. 

David loved history, science fiction and watching storms. He was a gifted handy man, mechanically inclined and able to fix and repair just about anything. He also enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was hiking, hunting or fishing. David will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family and friends.

David is survived by his wife, Sarah Gray, of Sullivan, MO; his four children: Cheyenne Elizabeth, Dameon Michael and Gwynavier Meridian Gray, all of Sullivan, MO, and Edward Joseph Doyle Lasater of Bellaire, OH; one grandchild, Ashton Edward Lasater of Bellaire, OH; his mother and stepfather, Catherine Dobkina and Yuriy Dobkin of Sullivan, MO; three brothers: Robert Leonard, Brandon Leonard, both of Jonesboro, AR, and Dmitri Dobkin of Sullivan, MO; one sister, Stephanie Acey and husband, Bart, of Imperial, MO; special friend, Dayna Geckler, of Sullivan, MO; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services were 1 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO, officiated by Pastor Bob Murphy. Cremation followed the service and Mr. Gray was inurned in Bourbon Cemetery on Monday, April 19, 2021.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions in David’s memory may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation and/or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
