Clyde R. Farmer, Jr., age 60, of Bourbon, MO, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 19, 2021.

Clyde Ralph (Magoo) Farmer, Jr. was born in Washington, MO, November 18, 1960, the son of Clyde R. and Myrtle M. (McGeorge) Farmer. He grew up and attended school in Bourbon and graduated from Bourbon High School, class of 1979. After graduation, Magoo married the love of his life, Peggy Bouse. To this union three daughters were born: Laura, Heather and Ashley.

Magoo worked several jobs, serving in many different roles. He was known as a jack of all trades. Magoo worked in the construction industry, welding, trucking, and belt splicing. However, he found his true passion in farming. Magoo was his happiest when he was working in the hayfield. As a teenager, he used the hayfield as a means to spend time with Peggy while he was working for her father. At the age of 16, Magoo began serving as a volunteer firefighter and continued to for many years. He also served on the Bourbon Fire Board up until he moved out of the county.

Magoo loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He was an avid sports fan, and especially loved Bourbon High School basketball. Many of the athletes from Bourbon will remember the chant, “What time is it? Hoop time!” Magoo was always outspoken and made sure to keep the refs in line. Outside of work and sports, he loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and farming. He was always known to bring life to any occasion and was sure to put a smile on everyone’s faces. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by many.

Magoo is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Peggy Farmer, of Bourbon, MO; three daughters: Laura Craig and husband, John, of Sullivan, MO, Heather Ziegler and husband, Walter, of Cuba, MO, and Ashley Farmer-Campbell and husband, Greg, of Sullivan, MO; nine grandchildren: Carsyn Ziegler, Lillie Craig, Jayson Campbell, Jacklyn Craig, Wyatt Farmer, Emmy Hawkins, Madison Campbell, Harper Ziegler and Caroline Campbell; four sisters: Vickie Bates and husband, David, of Rolla, MO, Anna Biggins and husband, Mike, of Sullivan, MO, Myra Ruff of Green Forest, AR, and Sarah Farmer of Frontenac, MO; special friends, Bill and Cyndee Boever; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
