Clarence Franklin Jones, 78 of Sullivan, Missouri passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024 at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis, MO.

Clarence was born on June 23, 1945 to the late John “Nick” and Gladys (Richards) Jones in St. Clair, MO. He grew up and attended school in St. Clair. Clarence honorably served his country in the United States Army National Guard for seventeen years working first as a Supply clerk and later in the Military Police. Clarence was united in marriage to Leona Parker on July 2, 1966, and one beloved daughter Kimberly was born. They would later divorce, however they would remain friends and co-parented their daughter.

Clarence was a very hard worker. He was employed by the Orchard Company in Crestwood, MO, as an Extrusion computer operator. The company would later sell and became DSI which would relocate to Dupo, Illinois. Clarence worked seven days a week, twelve hours a day for many years while also driving back and forth to Illinois.

After retiring, Clarence enjoyed traveling the back-roads of Missouri, going on vacations, whittling walking sticks and enjoying his daughter’s company. Clarence was a generous and loyal friend to many, always willing to lend a helping hand to others in need. He was a best-friend to his Kimberly.

Clarence is survived by his daughter Kimberly McCubbins and husband Michael of Sullivan, MO; special nephew Billy Parker and wife Nickie of Sullivan, MO; great-niece and nephew Chelsi and Dylan Parker; adopted daughter Cheryl Strickland and husband Ross of Columbia, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Along with his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by siblings Robert and Maxine; and fiancé Rita McGuire.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Chester Lahmann officiating.

Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 PM, Thursday, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
