Franklin County Election Results: Voters Reject ECC, Strain-Japan Propositions
Voters in Franklin County on Tuesday rejected propositions from East Central College and the Strain-Japan R-16 School District.
Prop ECC received just 47 percent of the vote, though other counties are still counting their votes.
Proposition S in the Strain-Japan R-16 School District received 83 “yes” votes to 87 “no” votes, while Proposition J received 78 “yes” votes and 88 “no” votes.
In the Sullivan School District, James Bartle (owner/publisher of the Independent News) received 283 votes from Franklin County.
Theresa McKinney received 272 votes.
Tyler Garner received 177 votes and Randall Stack 175 votes.
The top two will win a three-year term on the board.
Stack received the most votes from Washington County, getting 15.
McKinney received nine, while Bartle and Garner each received eight.
Prop ECC was rejected by Washington County voters, with 14 voting “yes” and 33 voting “no.”
