Cuba Man Gets 10 Years For Child Pornography

A Cuba man is serving a 10-year sentence for possessing child pornography.

James V. Ramey, 42, was sentenced last August after pleading guilty to a second offense.

Ramey was in possession of more than 20 obscene photos.

The South Central Computer Crime Task Force began investigating Ramey as the result of a report by an internet service provider (ISP).

The charge dates to Oct. 30, 2023.

Law enforcement executed a search warrant on June 27, 2024 at Ramey’s residence.

A cellular device contained the images.

Ramey was convicted in July 2005 for second-degree burglary, May 2018 for possession of a controlled substance and February 2020 for three counts of possession of a controlled substance.

The Crawford County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office secured a quick conviction against Ramey, who pleaded guilty just two months after being charged.

Ramey pleaded guilty on Aug. 19, 2024.

He is being held at the Crossroads Correctional Center in Cameron.
