Lowe’s Hometown Hero Grant Awarded to Bourbon High School Educator
Lowe’s in Sullivan has awarded the Hometown Hero Grant to Randy Payne, the Alternative Education Program Director at Bourbon High School. The grant will support Payne's efforts to guide students toward graduation and prepare them for future success.
The donation from Lowe’s includes a range of items essential to the program: a microwave, cabinets, a countertop, a refrigerator, and a Blackstone griddle complete with a cover and care kit. These additions will help enhance the learning environment and provide students with the tools they need for practical life skills education.
In addition to Mr. Payne’s dedicated work, the contribution of local volunteers and organizations has been integral to the program's success. Ruth Scott, a regular volunteer, has been acknowledged for her consistent commitment to teaching essential life skills and offering support to students. The Bourbon Ministerial Alliance has also partnered with the program, playing a vital role in expanding educational opportunities.
“We are deeply grateful to Lowe’s for their continued support of our schools,” said Payne. “I am honored to be recognized and am committed to our students’ success.”
This recognition highlights Lowe’s investment in local education and its commitment to community support. The acknowledgment of Mr. Payne’s work is well-deserved, as he continues to make a significant impact on the lives of his students.
